Alana Conner
Alana Conner, PhD is a science writer and editor whose specialty is cultural psychology. By day, she serves as the vice president of content development for The Tech Museum, a hands-on science and technology center in San Jose, California. By night, she writes about culture, psychology, and health for venues such as The New York Times Magazine, Static, and Stanford Social Innovation Review, where she served as editor for five years. She also speaks and consults about cultural psychology and social innovation, as well as opines at her blog, Actual Miles.
Before becoming a full-time writer and editor, Alana received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Yale University, her doctorate in cultural psychology from Stanford University, and her postdoctoral certificate in psychology and medicine from the University of California, San Francisco. Her award-winning research explored class and cultural differences in decision-making and health.
